Live Oak School District Jack Rabbit Student Art Contest winners

First Friday featuring Jack Rabbit Student Art Contest Winners

Kickoff our month-long exhibit of 12 student works from the Live Oak Education Foundation’s second annual Jack Rabbit Student Art Contest. We’ll be hosting the students, their families, and anyone who would like to see the winning pieces on Friday, May 5th from 2:30 – 3:30pm at Palace Art & Office Supply in Capitola.

The contest was open to TK-8th grade students from the Live Oak School District and received over 120 submissions from young artists of all ages. Winners were selected by a panel of judges:

  • Beau Barcus
LOSD Dad, creative power behind Ground Up Graphics, and designer of the cool 2023 Live Oak Jack Rabbit event poster and fun rabbit characters
  • Sarah Bianco
SC Clocktower muralist, Open Studios participant, 2017 Wharf to Wharf poster designer
  • Annie Morhauser
Founder of Annieglass, Smithsonian permanent collection artist, and Santa Cruz County of Artist of the Year 2022

The Live Oak Education Foundation was established to raise money to ensure that students in the Live Oak School District have enriching opportunities in the visual and performing arts, STEM fields, and positive play. Click here to learn more about the LOEF.

Palace was a proud sponsor of the 2nd Annual Jack Rabbit Student Art Contest; providing art supplies and prizes for the contest winners. Congratulations to all of the young and inspiring artists who participated!
